Easy and Tasty Viennese Penne

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, preferably nonstick, melt the butter.
  • Brown the diced cooked ham for a few minutes.
  • Add the peeled tomatoes, oregano, salt and chili powder.
  • Continue cooking by covering the pan with a lid or aluminum foil.
  • Check the sauce from time to time.
  • When cooked, add the liquid cooking cream.
  • Gently stir everything together.
  • Scald the pennette pasta in salted water.
  • Drain them al dente and pour them into the pan, mixing them with the rest.
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and serve immediately hot.

Notes

For an even more flavorful touch, you can add a sprinkling of nutmeg along with the Parmesan cheese. This will give the recipe a special, enveloping aroma. If you want a lighter version, replace the cooking cream with a vegetable version or evaporated milk.
