Ingredients

Instructions

  • Start by dissolving some yeast in warm water.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour with the dissolved yeast in the water.
  • Knead by hand or with the help of a bread machine until you get a soft and smooth dough. If necessary, add more water to reach the desired consistency.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place until it doubles in volume.
  • Bring a pot of water to a boil as if you were cooking pasta.
  • When it boils, shape small butterflies from the dough and immerse them in the boiling water a few at a time to prevent them from sticking together.
  • Cook the ladittas for about ten minutes or until they float to the surface.
  • Drain the ladittas and season them with your favorite sauce and plenty of grated cheese.

Notes

To give a special touch to the recipe, add finely chopped fresh aromatic herbs (such as basil or rosemary) to the ladittas dough before letting it rise for a richer and more flavorful taste.
