Recipe for Traditional Ladittas: The Perfect Appetizer
Make traditional ladittas at home, the perfect appetizer for your dinners with friends and family. Just yeast, warm water, and flour for these delicious bites. Add a special touch with fresh herbs in the dough. Serve with sauce and grated cheese. Preparation time: 20 minutes, calories: 200 Kcal per serving.
In a large bowl, mix the flour with the dissolved yeast in the water.
Knead by hand or with the help of a bread machine until you get a soft and smooth dough. If necessary, add more water to reach the desired consistency.
Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place until it doubles in volume.
Bring a pot of water to a boil as if you were cooking pasta.
When it boils, shape small butterflies from the dough and immerse them in the boiling water a few at a time to prevent them from sticking together.
Cook the ladittas for about ten minutes or until they float to the surface.
Drain the ladittas and season them with your favorite sauce and plenty of grated cheese.
Notes
To give a special touch to the recipe, add finely chopped fresh aromatic herbs (such as basil or rosemary) to the ladittas dough before letting it rise for a richer and more flavorful taste.
