Dissolve sugar in old-fashioned glass, in a little water.
Press the mint, removing the strands; add 2 tablespoons of crushed ice and the brandy.
Stir and decorate with 1 orange slice.
Notes
For an original twist, try adding a pinch of cinnamon powder or a few drops of angostura to enrich the flavor of the cocktail. The mint can be substituted with fresh mint leaves for a more classic variation.
